360 Campaign Lexus · LA Clippers 2016

Lexus × Clippers

At the start of the 2015–16 season, Lexus and the Clippers signed a bigger‑than‑usual partnership spanning broadcast, print, digital, social and a physical club space. Creatives don’t usually get involved in projects like this. My art director and I volunteered, because free floor seats.

The platform

Art Director Adam Bright and I concepted dozens of platforms that could hold a wide range of mediums. It had to be fun, premium and athletic. We landed on Let’s Play.

The hero

One Lexus RC F inspired by the Clippers, with 14 customizations. My favorites: a horn that sounds like an in‑game buzzer with the backboard LEDs, the steering wheel, and the paint job drawn from the Clippers playbook. The car was our look book.

The rest of it

A broadcast spot starring Doc Rivers. Help on the Clippers’ digital site. Social posts. Print ads. And the Lexus Courtside Club, which is essentially a premium adult arcade. It landed on every major sports and auto site, and then on live TV — ESPN’s Sports Nation, where the cast had a good laugh at our video. That was the goal.

Currently open to creative leadership roles

Let’s make something worth arguing about.
